Normally my husband writes for this blog, but today he is sleeping…getting some much needed rest. So I thought I would take this time to share with you my thoughts. I know this is the time of year when everyone is making New Year’s Resolutions. I also know from past experience that usually people quickly go back to their old habits. 

This reminded me of something my husband said to me yesterday, coincidentally on New Year’s Eve. I recently started my own business with my husbands’ support of course. The launch of my business required the need to make a major purchase. Naturally since my business is still in its infancy, this was something my husband and I where going to have pay for ourselves. 

Since you know this web site is about debt relief…I don’t have to tell you that this was not any easy decision for us. We talked about it at length and John told me to seek out the best price from a reputable retailer. Right before I hit the “place order here” button, I turned to my husband and asked him…”Are you sure we can afford to do this?” His response…”I’m betting on us this year”.  

Well I knew I could take that bet on ourselves to succeed in 2007. We know that once we set our minds to do something…there’s no stopping us. So instead of saying you’re going to do this or you’re going to do that, I challenge you to bet on yourself. Commit to do your best not because the calendar says it’s January 1st, but because you know that if you make up your mind to do something…it’s a pretty safe bet.
