Free Debt Relief : More Budget Fun

Well, you have your budget set up. Congratulations! You’ve probably done more to improve your financial situation than 80 % of the people in the world. You’ve increased your awareness of your financial situation , and that can’t be bad. ( Yeah, I know it might feel bad , scary and not good but it is definitely better to know than not to know.) Now it is time to get use to the budget. I’m a firm believer that you have to live with your budget for a few months before you really start to settle into the habit of living within a budget.

During those first few months you’ll find things you missed, things you don’t need and things that need adjusting . the important thing is to stick with it. Resist temptation. I figure it like this unless you have some mental defect caused by a physical abnormality that’s destroyed your impulse control you can control your spending. You’ve learned harder things in your life. You just have to want to do it .

Play with your budget and figure out how your going to make it fit your needs. Listen to your budget . It may be telling you something important like “Get a second job!” or “You don’t need to stop at the bakery for éclairs. You’re looking a little chunky. Not that there ’s anything wrong with being big boned.” Budgets can be so rude. But if you are honest with yourself , you have to admit that what they say is true. There IS nothing wrong with being big boned.

Once your familiar with your budget consider growing your budget into a miniature financial statement. You have you expenses, payments and income, if you add your liabilities, amount you owe and estimated number of payments. Add you assets and you’ve got the being of a personal financial statement. Play with the numbers and try to come up with a lay out that let’s you see where you are in a glance. Won’t your accountant be impressed?
