Free Debt Relief : Solar Energy for Debt Relief

Let the Sun Shine in
I’ve always been interested in solar energy. I really want to have solar panels on my roof for electricity and hot water. Even better I’d like to have a mini hydro generator in a little stream out back or maybe even a wind mill. Something to free me fro the clutches of BGE and reduce my energy costs. Of course, solar power and the other alternative energy sources represent a substantial upfront expense, even with the federal and state incentives.

The fact I live in a townhouse with minimal yard and no place to put a hydro generator or wind mill also put a damper on my solar /alternative energy fervor. Okay, so for now my dreams of energy independence are deferred. And you may be asking yourself “what’s the point of your ramble, John?”.

The Point

Well, the point is this ( drum roll please) (pause for dramatic effect )the process you go through to prepare for a solar or alternative energy system can save you money that you can use for debt relief.

Yes , that right save you money.

Here’s how it works. Everything I’ve read about installing a solar electric system starts says the first step is to reduce your energy usage. That’s right, eliminate phantom loads, install compact fluorescents, insulate pipes , etc. By reducing your energy usage you can get away with purchasing a smaller system , thus reducing your up front costs. Reducing that upfront cost means that the system will pay for itself sooner and you will enter the Sweet, Sweet blessed land of free energy sooner.

So if you do the conservation steps, without buying the solar energy system you’ll reduce your bills and save money. That money you can use for debt relief. Sweet, sweet debt relief.

And that ladies and gentlemen is the point.
