Free Debt Relief : Think before you Spend

February 15th, 2007

I’ve been getting pretty good at thinking before I spend. I consider the upfront costs, the interest costs and the opportunity costs of every purchase. I’m not fanatical about it but I am consistent.

I can honestly say I don’t want any THING as much as I want to be out of debt. I’m still 3 months a way from paying off that credit card and it is going to feel better than christmas morning to be able to cross that debt off the list. So I’m looking at every dollar spent as a dollar that might have gone to speeding the credit card pay off.

Today I ate breakfast at home and scavenged some leftovers for lunch and dinner. So I spent $0 dollars today other than my fixed costs. As it worked out I didn’t earn more than my salary today which means I fell a little short of my goal.

Hopefully I’ll do better tomorrow and earn a little extra. Like I always say sometimes “Time will tell”.
