Free Debt Relief : Did you Survive the Great Money Suck of 2006?
November 26th, 2006Well, it is Sunday night and I made it. I didn’t do any Christmas shopping on Black Friday or Dark Gray Saturday. I did go to the store. I bought some fluorescent lights ,40 watt cool whites, and a ladder. I probably should have borrowed the ladder but like I said I don’t like asking for help.
I’ve never owned a ladder before and I need one to change some of the light bulbs around the house. I thought about borrowing one from my neighbors but I don’t really know any of them well enough yet. Still a borrowed ladder is a free ladder. Maybe I’ll write something about getting to know your neighbors for debt relief.
I’ve been thinking of seeing if the neighbors want to go in on a mower but it seems like a big commitment with people I don’t know. Still I have a postage stamp lawn and it seems to me that buying a mower would be excessive. I’ll have to do a little research maybe a nice push mower would do the trick. I know they still make them. No gas. No oil. No spark plugs. A push mower might be the way to go.
Well, back to debt relief. I survived Thanksgiving and my wife showed me that she is thinking about this stuff too. She decided that we would do Secret Santa with the family. Each Adult buys one gift for one other adult, $50 limit. And as a bonus everyone filled out a wish list so you don’t have to guess about the gift. She cut our gift giving budget by a good 90%. When all is said and done I buy some stuff for the kids , something small for my wife and something for my secret Santa victim and I am out of Christmas with my finances in good shape. It’s a good deal all around.
Well, I have to work tomorrow so I’m going to call it quits for now. I just want to share with what I’m thankful for this Holiday Season. Besides the obvious wife and family and health I’m thankful there are no debtor’s prisons.
I owe, I owe so off to work I go.
