Free Debt Relief : Anticipate Budget Busters

January 17th, 2007

Like I said earlier it is best to anticipate busters and have a plan in place.

Here is some of the things you might want to have as part of your plan. This isn’t an exhaustive list ( Can two items be considered a list?)  :-)

  • Keeping an emergency fund of $1000 dollars - Obviously having some emergency cash on hand is the best way to cope. I’ve written about this before because there is always a little tension between the need to save and the need get rid of those debts as soon as possible. I have an emergency fund and I try to time my accelerator margin payment s so I have a little extra on hand for emergencies.
If you don’t want to put a grand in the bank somewhere at least have enough to cover your deductibles.
  • Borrowing - I made a mental list of who might have money to lend most of them are family but I have some friends who know money is tight and have offered to help if I get in trouble. It is good to have friends.

I’m sure you can come up with some others. You don’t need me to spoon feed you this stuff. Think about your plan and put it in place and you’ll always have options when budget busters come along.
