Free Debt Relief : Mortgage Savings Tips? part 1

December 27th, 2006

I’ve read these mortgage savings tips pretty much everywhere but it seems to me I might as well include them in my blog just in case some poor sap out there is using me as their sole source of  financial advice . By the way if you are that poor sap who is using me as the sole source of financial advise or even a major source, let me say that YOU ARE NUTS!!!!! I am not a professional. I’m just some guy who has built up a lot of debt he want to be free of as soon as possible. Smarten up.

Well , let’s get back to the mortgage saving tips.  These are pretty standard but they may help you whether your a sap or not.

Generally, mortgage interest rates  are generally one of the lowest rates you pay so it may not make sense to pay it first if you are carrying a lot of credit card debt. Listen paying off a 24.9 percent debt should take precedent over paying off a 6.5 percent debt. Make sure your mortgage is where your extra money should be going.

I’ve said it before make sure you’re not going to be paying a prepayment penalty if you plunk some cash down on the principle. I know that prepayment penalties are illegal in Maryland but they must be legal somewhere since some of the loans I looked at included  a prepayment penalty. Do some research and see how it is in your state.

I have to go. I have a few more tips that I’ll try to get  written up as soon as I can
