I’ve been considering operating my blog as a business rather than a hobby or some weird mix of the two. I wouldn’t mind collecting the revenues from some clever coffee mugs or tee shirt sales. I want and need some money to pay off my debt so why not sell some merchandise?

I’m not sure. I started using adsense ads so what’s the difference between that and selling coffee mugs. I not really sure there is one but the idea kind of makes me feel like a hypocrite.

Here I sit telling you to not spend money on unnecessary items and then I go and try and sell you some unnecessary items. It seems a little shady to me. If I had a product or service I created or used that really helped me to get out of debt, I could recommend it or sell it and be happy to get a cut of the profit. But How many coffee mugs and t-shirts do you need.

Ah, well for now keep your money in your pocket.
